BMW engineers have been testing a new generation of a popular X5 SUV for quite a while for quite some time. This time, our photographers-shpions managed to track the prototype, which lost part of the camouflage.
These photographs show that the car will receive a new radiator grill, which is larger and wider than the current. We can also get an idea of the headlights of the crossover, but their general form is still difficult to determine. In the back of the car, a double exhaust system and a modernized trunk door are visible.
To increase the efficiency of fuel use, the next X5 will be built on the new platform, which has the code name “X for Alll”, which translates “x for all”. It will achieve a reduction in the weight of the SUV by 150 kg. In this case, the total size of the car will increase.
The engine line is still unconfirmed, but most likely it will include a 2.0-liter diesel diesel engine with 245 liters.With. (183 kW / 248PS), 3.0-liter diesel with 302 liters.With. (225 kW / 306 l.With.) and a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 from 402 l.With. (300 kW / 408 l.With.). The hybrid option is also expected.
2014 BMW X5 can be presented next year.
