How to competently choose a DVR

May 15, 2018

In modern traffic conflicts, it is the video recording of a traffic accident that becomes an unambiguous guarantor of what really happened on the road.

DVRs will help to avoid auto stands, false accusations and similar problems that often happen to our roads. DVRs can also shoot not only while driving, but also when parking a car, when the car itself is drowned out, and it seems that no one can interfere with the attacker. The DVR may well fix the face and license plate of the right machine. In the absence of movement in front of the registrar, it turns off.

When buying a video camera, you need to know several positions on which DVRs may vary to determine which video recorder you definitely need.

Firstly. Some of the DVRs have a sufficient screen to view the recorded videos on it. In my opinion, this is an extremely useful function when without connecting the registrar to an additional monitor, you can see what the video recorder specifically recorded. This is convenient, for example, during an accident, to show a traffic police officer any incident so that there are no ambiguities when registering papers. By the way, if the recorded video on your registrar does not speak in your favor, you can not show it.

Secondly. The presence of GPS in the registrar. This means that each video recorded by your registrar will be attached a mark that is visible or not, depending on the settings, which will show the record place with an accuracy of several meters.

Third. Maximum operation temperature. There are frequent cases when the registrar’s body is to melt hard, standing for several days in the sun, somewhere in the south of Russia, for example, during a summer trip with a family. Therefore, you need to choose a registrar in the parameters of which the maximum operation temperature is indicated 70 degrees.

Fourthly. The presence of a G-sensor. Translated, this means impact sensor. This sensor has 2 important functions. When the sensor is triggered, when the machine is turned off, it starts the recording of the registrar so that it is possible to understand and fix the reason for the operation. And the second function, during the operation of the registrar, puts on a video file with the recording of the incident (causes of the blow) a mark prohibiting this video, when applying for new frames. To erase this entry, only the user of the registrar, after viewing.

Fifth. Maximum screen resolution and shooting speed. At the moment, the best resolution is 1280×720 and the shooting speed of 30 fps.

Sixth. Manufacturer. As a rule, in our stores there are registers of Chinese manufacturers. Usually cheaper. However, there are also registers of Korean or German manufacturers, noticeably higher quality and increased service life.
