Water
The average water tariff is $3.5 per cubic meter. If two people live in the apartment, it will be $35 per month on average, $420 per year.
Electricity
The tariff per kilowatt is from $0.16. Electricity is rarely used for heating, as it is expensive. Therefore, with an average consumption of 200 kW per month, it will be at least $30-40. It is worth knowing that tariffs in the north of the country are higher. The smallest electricity bills are in Wales ($28 per month for a studio), in Scotland – at least one and a half times more expensive (from $40 per room).
Gas
Gas fireplaces are most often used for heating in England. A cubic meter of gas costs $0.6 on average. The lowest tariffs are in the eastern part of the country ($330 per year per room), and the highest are in the northwest ($400). A two-bedroom apartment will cost about $400–800 per year, while a house with three or four bedrooms will cost $800–1360.
You can often find a situation where, in an effort to save money, heating in an apartment is turned on only in the most extreme cases. And to keep warm, people walk around the house in woolen clothes and stoke the fireplace with peat pellets.
There is no monopoly on gas and electricity in Britain – this market is very competitive. Therefore, comparing tariffs and changing companies for a lower cost of services is commonplace.
Television and Internet
To connect an apartment to television, you must pay a monthly utility tax of $16. You must pay the fee in any case, even if you do not watch TV. A landline phone and internet cost about $40 per month.
Service charge
Depends on the elite status of the complex and the development of the internal infrastructure. For example, in premium residential complexes the amount can reach $5,000 per year so that the building always has a concierge, a gym, a clean pool, the territory is maintained, and the apartments are cleaned regularly. For an ordinary average house the fee is $400–500 per year.
