The key with the clouds is if they are thick are thin clouds which will light up just prior to sunrise

With many of the trees filled with fall colors I also found some had just a few reminders of the season as the majority of their leaves had fallen

but when I was out at Sheep Creek it was nearing low tide already

For me the river leads to the sunlight in this midday image bringing the two elements together

From a perspective on a building along Michigan Avenue I was able to view these colors from above the tree line. In the distance I noticed how the Jay Pritzker Pavilion was rising through the trees in the park and starting to blend in with the building facades of the city.
