New BMW X4
Recently, there have been rumors about the appearance of the German car concern of the BMW new crossover in the model line. It seems that these rumors begin to acquire real outlines. So, in several media, information appeared that the German manufacturer will present a new product at a car interior in the American Detroit, which starts in January next year. True, it is worth noting that German designers will present only a prototype to the court of spectators and specialists, and not a serial copy. The fact is that in the series the car will be launched at best in the second half of 2013.
The new BMW X4 is based on the X3 platform, but the size is slightly larger than its predecessor, while the next class BMW x6 is already inferior in the dimensions. In general, the design of the car is made in compliance with current development trends of 4-door coupe. The licked, dynamic body contours are especially emphasized by a significant rubble of the rear racks, which enhances the impression of the sports of the new car. In general, an aggressive car is more suitable for autobahns and city streets than for off -road. As for the power installation of the crossover, according to the available information, the car will be equipped with the same engines as the BMW X3. Thus, a series of gasoline engines will be represented by units with a volume of 2.0 to 3.5 liters with a capacity range from 184 horsepower to 306 “horses”.
Diesel versions of the BMW X4 will be equipped with power plants with a volume of 2.0 to 3.5 liters with a capacity of 184 to 313 horsepower.
In addition, a version will be released specifically for fans of fast riding, called the BMW X4 m, which will be equipped with a new turbocharged engine with a working volume of 3.0 liters. The development of such an engine is currently carried out by Bavarian Motor Builders for the new M3 car version. Will receive the BMW X4 m and a diesel version equipped with a powerful “diesel” with a capacity of 381 horsepower. In addition to a more “dusty” heart, the appearance of additional options that improve the car control at high speeds of movement is not excluded.
There is no specific information about the cost of various modifications of the new German crossover yet.
