The new high -tech dubbleker is currently undergoing road trials. Before Christmas, our photographer-shpion managed to make impressive photos of the new item.
This is a modern bus, the design of which was developed by Heatherwick Studio. It is driven by a hybrid installation, which includes a 4.5-liter diesel engine that charges electric batteries. We suspect that most of the time the bus will eat from electricity. The use of such technologies is caused by tightening environmental norms and standards.
The design of the new generation of the London bus is unique. Not only the lower and upper tiers are glazed, but also the front and back stairs. As a donor of such an idea was the first London bus, which appeared fifty years ago. The new dubbleker received three doorways.
Despite all the external readiness of the bus, you should not expect the replacement of current models overnight. They will appear gradually. It is expected that the first bus will reach the route in May 2012.
