The main purpose of motoshin, as well as tires for other vehicles, is the maximum clutch with road and handling. All tires intended for motorcycles are divided into two types: diagonal and radial.
Radial tires
Radial tires (official marking R (Radial Tipe)) have maximum resistance to deformation effects that occur when moving at high speeds. The parallel system of laying threads in the frame provides a lack of intersection, which contributes to minimal internal friction, and, accordingly, the minimum heating. A special layer (bracker) is applied on top of the frame, on which the main load. Its design, consisting of synthetic and metal threads, evenly distributes the load over the entire area. This design provides minimal power losses and is used for the operation of sports and road motorcycles.
Diagonal tires
Diagonal tires (official marking in (Blas Tipe)), unlike radial, are most adapted for off -road, soil roads with a poor coating. The threads of the frame are laid in such a way that they form the interweaving at a certain angle, and each subsequent layer has a cross section in the form of “x”. The withstanding load depends on the number of layers laid. In most cases, their number is 2-6 pieces. The number of such layers is indicated on the tire in standard marking. Such tires are used in the operation of cross -country motorcycles.
Sometimes another layer is introduced into the design of this type of tire, the so -called belt. Such a tire is called-diagonal-in-designed laying layers are carried out in the direction of rotation of the wheel. During the contact of the tire with the road, all energy is transmitted through the contact spot. In the presence of additional layers, at the time of contact, each layer is aligned and increases the area of contact. This effect allows you to increase the clutch and reduce slippage, thereby increasing the transmission of torque. At the same time, due to internal mechanical movements, the temperature of the tire increases, which slightly increases wear and life.
Tire marking for motorcycles
All information about the tire is usually applied to the side, and contains technical, geometric and special parameters. It is advisable to know some parameters to the buyer to make the right choice before purchasing.
Geometric parameters
Example: 170/60 R 17 M/C 72W
– 170 (mm) – Screaming profile width,
– 60 (%) profile height is expressed as a percentage in relation to the width (170×60%= 102 mm), sometimes this parameter is indicated in inches (3.5-16),
– 17 – diameter of the planting diameter (disk), units of diet measurement, (1 inch = 25.4 mm)
– R is the symbol of the radial tire types.
– M/s – letters indicating that this tire should be used only on a motorcycle.
– 72- coefficient (load index). Indicates the maximum permissible load on the bus (kg).
– W – coefficient (speed index). The value showing the maximum permissible speed of operation of the tire. With this indicator, the manufacturer guarantees all the inherent technical and operational indicators.
In addition to the above characteristics and sizes, the manufacturer parameters are indicated on the side of the tire of the tire, as well as the visual indicator of tread wear (PLLOG). Among the tread pattern there are visible jumks of smaller size. With the designation T W I – Tread Wear Indicator, the slightest wear of this jumper indicates the limiting wear, and this rubber must be changed as quickly as possible. The maximum wear of the tires lead not only to the “poor holding of the road”, but also washing to the break.
The standard set for many tires is applied
– TT TUBE TYPE, Motoshina should be operated only with the camera
– TL Tubeless, the use of a motorcycle is also allowed in unwritten mode.
– Rotation with an arrow shows in which direction the wheel rotates. Such a designation is used for an asymmetric tread pattern, and the direction of movement matters.
– 1608 – standard designation of the manufacturing date indicating a week (first two digits) and year (second two digits). In this version, the release of the motorcycle was made in the 16th week of 20087.
– F. Front indicates that this motorcycle should be installed on the front wheel. The profile of such a tire is not designed to transfer the power of the drive wheel, but is designed for control and power power.
– Rear indicator of tire installation on the drive wheel. The profile of such tires is larger, to ensure maximum adhesion to the roadbed. There are no such marking on universal motorcycleos, and they are installed both on the front wheel and on the rear.
– Made in …- the most famous designation indicating the country of the manufacturer
Minimum knowledge and ownership of the above information will allow each motor amateur to make the right choice when buying a motorcycle.
Load indices and speeds for motoshin
The declared and used indices must set the limiting parameters of safe operation.
The load index shows the limit weight that can withstand the tire. Such indexation is generally accepted for all manufacturers. The indicator guarantees stable work, lack of deformation and integrity of all compounds in a static and dynamic state. Setting a margin of strength. It is calculated at a 30%exceeding the established standard. The load index acts in conjunction with the speed index. The given table allows you to decide on all parameters and accurately choose the required motorcycle, taking into account all operational conditions.
