The American Auto Concert Ford plans to start the release of a special device that will allow motorists to configure the power unit control unit Ecoboost line. At the same time, the boot motors of this family can be independently configured in accordance with the preferences of the car owner.
The new device, called ProCal, can soon be ordered on the official network resource of an American company, as well as such a device as a meteorological station. The preliminary price of the device is set at 595 dollars.
According to experts, the new device can be connected to a special diagnostic connector installed in the Ford car. Using the device, it will be possible to make an accurate setting of different characteristics of the machine.
In particular, the device will make it possible to install the necessary parameters of the valve of the power unit, as well as configure the required response of the accelerator. It is possible to adjust the functioning of the motor at idle. In addition, Procal allows you to set the necessary parameters of the ignition system and fuel cards.
It can be added that this device was used earlier. So, in particular, the Ford Racing unit sold Procal in a special set with other types of spare parts. The use of the device made it possible to significantly improve the installation and configuration of different parts of Ford cars.
It is important to supplement that at present the American car concern is going to popularize the line of its EcoBoost power units among those motorists who like to engage in tuning machines. For this, it is planned to add additional functions to ProCal. To date, Ford does not tell the exact values of the possible increase in Ecoboost engines when using a new device.
At the same time, there is information that the new device allows you to set up a turbocharged two -liter engine of the Ford Focus ST model in such a way as to significantly increase its torque from the value of 360 nm to 480 nm.
